We were in Bhuj working on a fabrication project when we came across a dog who had lost the use of his hind legs.
What started as an ordinary day on site turned into an unexpected little design problem — one that had nothing to do with our project drawings.
We studied the way he moved, his proportions, and what would allow him to move comfortably without putting unnecessary strain on his body. From that, we designed and fabricated a custom mobility roller, built specifically around him.
It took some trial, adjustment, and a little patience. But seeing him take those first steps with the roller made all of it worth it.
He could move again.
He could explore again.
And, judging by that face, he seemed pretty happy about it.
For us, fabrication has always been about more than materials, joints, and making things. Good design should solve problems — sometimes even the ones you didn’t set out to solve.
